What you get from Boot Camp H2O...
Endurance training is the act of exercising to increase the ability of an organism to exert itself and remain active for a long period of time, as well as its ability to resist, withstand, and recover from fatigue.
The need for endurance in sports is often predicated as the need of cardiovascular and simple muscular endurance and it can be shown is closely tied to the execution of skill and technique. A well conditioned athlete can be defined as, the athlete who executes his or her technique consistently and effectively with the least effort.
Long-term endurance training induces many physiological adaptations both centrally and peripherally mediated.
Central cardiovascular adaptations include decreased heart rate, increased stroke volume of the heart, increased blood plasma, without any major changes in red blood cell count, which reduces blood viscosity and increases cardiac output.
Endurance exercise tends to be popular with non-athletes for the purpose of increasing general fitness or burning more calories to increase weight loss potential.
Strength training is a type of physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction, which builds the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles.
When properly performed, strength training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being, including increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength and toughness, improved joint function, reduced potential for injury, increased bone density, increased metabolism, improved cardiac function, and elevated HDL ("good") cholesterol.
Abdominal exercises are an important of building abdominal muscles.
Strenghtening of this muscle group is useful for improving performance with certain sports, back pain, and for withstanding abdominal impacts.
Abdominal muscles have many important functions, including breathing, coughing, sneezing, and maintaining posture and speech.
Your core should be strong and engaged when you swim.
Oxygen is essential to the metabolic function of all cells in the body and the lungs are part of a system that delivers oxygen throughout the body.
While people cannot increase the physical size of their lungs, they can train them to be more efficiently take in and use oxygen. Increased lung efficiency not only improves stamina but generally results in a healthier lifestyle because the body can better use the oxygen it takes in.
Your health .... your choice.
When it comes down to it, staying fit is essential to longevity, looking and feeling good. Boot Camp H2O is an exciting new way to push you past your limits and excel. It's easy to fall into the old trap of missing the gym and not pushing yourself, but not at Boot Camp H2O. We are an aquatic fitness program that brings together the best of water and land training techniques to help you achieve your goals.
First, we all know cardiovascular training is important for your heart, but did you know that our aquatic fitness program will help you to impove your lung capacity! Why is this important? As we grow older and by the time reach our 70s our lung capacity is half what it used to be. This may result in lung diseases like pneumonia, which is a major killer in the elderly. Building your heart strength and improving your lung performance now will help you in the later years of life. Training allows you to enjoy a strong healthy body now and in the future.
Our aquatic fitness training directly focuses on building your heart and lungs with under water and stamina exercises, like treading water and jump ups. Boot Camp H2O's water fitness training is also much easier on your joints than most land-based Boot Camp's allowing you to continue your progress without the risk of injuries.
Second, strength training is also important because building muscle mass increases your basal metabolic rate, which means you BURN MORE CALORIES, and burning calories helps you lose weight and get lean. In Boot Camp H2O water fitness trains you with plyometrics, elastic resistance devices, and weights, both in and out of the water to help improve your core strength and overal health!
